Sunshine - in October?

So ever the opportunists we decided it would be a great idea to boost morale before another long, very cold winter in Scotland by doubling a recent holiday to Egypt with a mini-photo shoot of some of our new gear....The weather was great and more importantly the windsurfing did not disappoint! Thanks to everyone we met in Dahab who made for a great trip. We will certainly be back having wetted the freestyle windsurfing appetite!

Minty's annual haircut

So our sheep Minty needed her annual haircut but seeing as there's only one of her we were too lazy to hook up the trailer to take her. So we decided to load her into the back of the land rover and take her that way. She seemed to enjoy her little journey to the shearer's as it meant she could look out of the front window. She was bottle reared so she thinks she's a human anyway!

Kush's Summer Solstice Bike Ride 2010

Local bikers after our inaugural summer solstice bike ride across the hills of Ballater. A sunset, a sunrise and some stitches (of the medical kind) later we returned tired but happy that we'd raised over £100 for CLAN cancer charity. See more photos on our facebook page.

Summer Solstice Bike Ride tee

Have a wee look at our t-shirt design for our Summer Solstice Bike event on Saturday. Organised by Kush and supported by our friends at cycle highlands.

Lorna's tee

So one of the guys in the office- Oli has a sister- Lorna. Recently Lorna qualified as a vet so to celebrate this momentous occasion Oli decided to make her a t-shirt. We thought it was quite funny so we thought we'd share it with you too!

Our most eggzellent adventure...

Ok... so in our office we consider ourselves to be efficient, mature and professional so what better way to spend the afternoon than challenging some of our staff to an egg decorating contest? We had clearly underestimated the lengths some people will go to to win a tinfoil trophy!
Anyway here are the entries and accompanying stories:

Sun Worship egg- entered by Lorna
Egg is relaxing on the beach soaking up the rays, however care will have to be taken so that egg does not become fried!

Captain Hook egg- entered by Matt
Set adrift in a tiny dinghy by his mutinous crew, Captain hook egg had only his cutlass and a cannon with a single cannonball to defend himself. He had drifted for days and had no idea where he was, what day it was or what time it was....
"tick tock, tick tock" the ominous sound came from somewhere close by. Maybe he would find out the time soon....

Easter Snow Bunny egg- entered by Lucy
Easter Snow Bunny egg is in a race against time to get all the eggs to the lucky boys and girls of the Cairngorm slopes.

Mountain Biker egg- entered by Laura
Whilst out in the wilderness wearing his trusty Kush tee, mountain biker egg realised that it was very difficult to pedal with no legs! He therefore decided that downhill biking may be where his talents lie.

Eggtastic Surf egg- entered by Oli
Eggy's gone surfing and left sun worship egg on the beach. Making the most of a perfectly consistent breaking barrel, every day is a perfect surfing day in Easterland.

After careful consideration, the judges (Lorna's mum) decided that the worthy winner of this year's contest (and a tinfoil trophy) was Matt with Captain Hook egg. Well done Matt!

Catch a wave not a cold...

Some of the more hardy members of our team went surfing in Banff on the North East coast yesterday with our good friend Davie from the surf club there. Well equipped with boards, wax and the all important neoprene balaclava! They assured the rest of us that it wasn't nearly as cold as we thought....mmm!

Working sno' fun!

The snow is here! So we decided to down tools for the day on Friday and hit the slopes at Glenshee. The weather and snow were the best we could remember for ages and a good day was had by all. So we now have some good memories and some aching muscles...

Kush 1st Annual New Year Ceilidh

Much merryment was had at the Kush Clothing 1st Annual New Years Day Ceilidh! Over 90 people bought tickets and enjoyed a great night of music courtesy of the Orwell Ceilidh band, with a serenade by Kathy Smeaton of some of her own work during the intermission. We raised over £80 for Melena Carry who is frantically fundraising for an African children's charity ahead of her big Kilimanjaro climb later in the year.

The hall is already booked for next year and we are on the look out for a charity to support in 2010. If you think that's you or have a suggestion drop us a line using the Contact Us page. Anything considered! Whoever we end up supporting its guaranteed to be a great night so watch out for news to come later in the year, or for exclusive access to purchase tickets early you can join our mailing list by contacting us with your current e-mail address quoting "newsletter".

See you there!
